Titanium DioxideTitanium dioxide (TiO2) is titanium's naturally occurring oxide. This occurs naturally as minerals, for instance, anatase and rutile. Rutile's ore comprises 98% titanium dioxide. Apart, it has eight modifications in total, three of metastable phase, and five of high pressure forms. This is applicable in a number of industries, from paint, paper, plastic, soap, textile, printing inks, fibers, rubber to food processing and varnishes. Titanium Dioxide can also be used in cosmetic industry as a colorant, sunscreen agent, UV light absorber or opacifying agent in body care products, like makeup, lotion and sunscreen. The other products made using this are titanium, glass ceramics, chemical intermediates, catalysts, etc.
